After a 10-year deal with Live Nation, Jay-Z is looking to leave the company and take a stake in his recording music company Roc Nation. This situation might eventually end up in a buy-sell situation, meaning that, either of the sides involved would end up attaining a stake in Roc Nation or even ending up having the company purchased. However, since Live Nation buys into the artists recorded music and rights, it will be unlikely for the company to slip back to purchasing recorded music. Meaning that they might not be renewing the deal with Jay Z. Nonetheless, Roc Nation has been well established since it has some of the best artists, some of whom include Jay-Z himself, Shakira, Rihanna, Fat Joe and Meek Mill.
There are tons of speculations as to whom would end up attaining a stake in Roc Nation; all this began when Jay-Z and Desiree Perez, a Roc Nation executive, met with the Chief Executive Officer of UMG (Universal Music Group), Lucian Grainge, at his offices in Santa Monica. The collaboration would be a boost to Roc Nation since it will attract more artists thus being able to sustain itself.
She is a close associate to Jay-Z for more than 20 years; she also has a long track with SC Enterprises which has contributed to her qualities and experience.
