Sudhir Choudhrie: chairman of Magnum International Trading Company

Sudhir Choudhrie is the chairman of Magnum International Trading Company. Sudhir has been awarded the Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India, for his contribution to the field of trade. Sudhir Choudhrie was a member of the Task Force on Direct Taxes, set up by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and Government of India in 2002. He was Chairman and MD of Deccan Aviation Ltd. from 1992 through 2007. In 2011, he was listed in the Power 100 list published by Power Business Magazine at no. 15, as well as in its Top 50 Wealth Creators 2011 list posted at no. 24.

Magnum International Trading Company is a holding company that began with the 1975 acquisition of a British trading company. Magnum’s business focus has been exporting to the former Soviet Union. The company’s modern era began with a joint venture between Deccan Aviation and Sukhoi’s avionics division in 1981. As the founder and chairman of Magnum International, Sudhir Choudhrie has over 30 years of experience in the industry.

Alpha C&C Group is an umbrella company that holds Sudhir Choudhrie’s early investments. Alpha’s worldwide operations have been based in the United Kingdom since 1992 and involve manufacturing, aviation, real estate, mining, and finance. Its main avionics business is to supply aircraft simulators to the civil aviation sector worldwide. The group purchased significant holdings in Kingfisher Airlines and Deccan Aviation from Vijay Mallya in 2008.
