Raffaele Riva

Raffaele Riva Raffaele Riva is the founder and CEO of Riva Group S.p.A., a company specializing in producing and commercializing multimedia software for children. He started his career as an entrepreneur in 1976 by creating an innovative animated TV series called “Il Piccolo Cinequattro” to provide multilingual teaching to children from different language backgrounds.

Following its success, Raffaele Riva went on with new projects: “Dragon Peter” (1982), “Peter Pan Park” (1984), which became very popular in China and many other countries, “Micky Mouse Club House” (1987), the first-ever Italian production ever sold to Disney Channel Worldwide, and “Bagheera” (1988).

Riva Group was the leader of the multimedia market in Italy and the first Italian company to enter the PC, CD-Rom and Internet markets with unique products. In 1994, Riva Group consolidated its position by creating one of Europe’s largest software publishers with a catalog of 60 titles. From 1993 to 2001, Riva Group’s publishing activity focused on the Internet with over 1000 hours of 3D real-time interactive adventures sold on CDs (Bagheera) or via modems in Europe, America and Asia.

In 1995 Raffaele Riva founded IDEA School, an experimental school for children from 6 to 16 years old, who are challenged daily to develop their creativity through new technologies.

In 2002, Riva Group was sold to a French group, which continued the projects and internet activities. In 2004 Riva Group launched “Moby Power,” a free downloadable children’s computer program. In 2005, Riva Group entered the world of toys by creating “Vinny Verga,” an educational toy based on a successful children’s TV series sold in 80 countries worldwide and produced in 63 countries.

Riva is an expert on child development and education by creating personalized learning programs for schools. He has extensive experience in terms of research on human behavior through virtual reality, using props and scenarios to encourage natural thought development and creative expression for every child.
