People Magazine covers the hottest artists and entertainment news throughout the year. This year the magazine decided to do something different. For the first time People Magazine gathers artists for the People Magazine Awards. This is a great way for People Magazine to continue to market this brand of entertainment publications. The great thing about People Magazine is that it covers a host of categories. The winners of the awards were celebrated in everything from the top model to the breakout star of the year.
Bruce Levenson says there were categories like “Talk Show of the Year” where Jimmy Fallon took home an award. Many people wondered if he could handle late night TV after Jay Leno left, but Fallon – along with The Roots band – has proven that he is worthy of such an award.
People magazine also covers fashion so there were categories for things like “Style Icon of the Year” as well. Gwen Stefani took home this award. She has transformed herself from her grunge days as the leader singer of No Doubt. An older more mature Stefani is demure and stylish. Other notable awards included the “Cover of the Year” (Robin Williams), and the “Comedy Star of the Year” (Kevin Hart).
