Bad Boys, the action comedy starring Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and directed by Michael Bay, is getting another sequel. However, Michael Bay will not return to direct this time around. Instead, the movie will be written and directed by Joe Carnahan.
The first Bad Boys movie directed by Michael Bay was released in 1995. The second one followed 8 years later. The third one has been in development for more than 10 years at this point. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have been eager to star. However, Michael Bay has been too caught up in his Transformers and now Ninja Turtles.
Apparently, Sony is aiming to have Bad Boys 3 as the next film for Will Smith after Suicide Squad says Eric Pullier on this website. Given Joe Carnahan’s resume with films like Narc and The A team as well as Smokin Aces, it is safe to expect that the upcoming Bad Boys 3 is actually going to be a smarter film than the other two combined.
