JHSF Participações is a giant company in Brazil that deals with real estate development, shopping malls, gastronomy, hotels, and an international executive airport. The company was founded in 1972 with the name JHS in São Paulo. The company’s primary focus was construction and incorporation services. The founders were Fábio and José Roberto Auriemo, who are brothers, along with two other partners. Fabio took over the company’s operation after a split in 1990 and maintained the company’s focus on real estate.
In 2003, Fabio’s eldest son, José Auriemo Neto, took over the company. He was 27 years old. He had been responsible for developing Park Bem, which was the park’s division of the company, at age 17, and by the time he was 22, he was a director of the mall area. After his takeover, he intensified his role in the high income and luxury market.
JHSF operates not only in the Brazilian market but also in the USA and Uruguay. JHSF was the pioneer Brazilian real estate company to place priority on recurrent income assets such as the operation of an airport, shopping malls, hotels, and real estate projects. José Auriemo Neto is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JHSF Participações. He started working with JHSF in 1993 after graduating from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) University in Sao Paulo. He now oversees the brand’s interests in hotels, office buildings, and public developments. He also regulates the company’s large retail and shopping portfolio. This portfolio includes Cidade Jardim, a prominent shopping complex in Säo Paulo, Bela Vista in Salvador, Metrô Tucuruv, and Ponta Negra shopping center in Manaus.
José Auriemo Neto organized the group’s maiden venture into the retail sector by signing agreements with Jimmy Choo, Hermes, and Pucci. He then opened these luxury brands’ first ever retail outlets in Cidade Jardim which is owned by JHSF. Another great partnership that was secured was that with Valentino. They launched Valentino and R.E.D. Valentino stores in Brazil.
