Dr. Gutman’s latest book Digital Marketing: Insider Secrets for Succeeding on the Internet, released in September 2014, is said to be “required reading” for all digital marketers worldwide.

Intrivo and pioneer of interactive marketing Ron Gutman talks about his book and his most effective strategies to succeed in the digital marketing business. He says that as a leader, you need to listen to your employees and not just speak to them. He values communication because it produces better results.

What can readers expect from your new book?

The digital marketing industry is increasingly complex and competitive, and the key to success is no longer just a good product to sell. An effective marketing strategy is the foundation of any business that wants to succeed in today’s fast-paced, digital age. According to Ron Gutman, it’s time to understand how to utilize the latest marketing technology and the psychological principles that drive consumer behavior.

One tip for succeeding in digital marketing?

My number one tip for succeeding in digital marketing would be to create a customized strategy for your business and its target customer base. Each company has different needs and benefits from an online presence. Ron Gutman assures that it would help if you found out where your potential customers are and what they’re looking for.

What is your favorite way to market a product?
What I’ve learned over the years is that there’s no one right way to market products. There are many different options available, depending on your target market, which ones would be the most effective for you. I believe in utilizing multiple ways to market a product because each one appeals to different segments of the consumer base. Ron Gutman points out that you want to be sure you’re reaching everyone at some point with your advertising campaigns so you can convert as many sales as possible.
