How Ryan Seacrest Got His Start In The Media

Ryan Seacrest grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia but decided he would rather jump right into his passion instead which was being on the radio and hosting TV shows. The very first hosting gig he got occurred in 1994 when he was chosen for Gladiators 2000. This was followed up the next year by Wild Animal Games and then, in 1997, he was chosen to host Click.

His work on these shows led to Ryan Seacrest landing a radio hosting gig on LA’s radio station, 97.7 FM. His show quickly shot up to being the number one daily afternoon talk show in this market. This show garnered him a lot of attention which led to his being chose to host American Idol in 2002. From the very first night, Ryan Seacrest said that he and the rest of the cast had something really special on their hands.

He went on to national and then international fame because of American Idol. Today, though, Ryan Seacrest is well-known for hosting many other shows. He created a second very popular radio show, this one in the morning in LA, which is called “On Air with Ryan“. In 2017 he also joined up with Kelly Ripa and started a morning television talk show, “Live with Kelly and Ryan”.

Beyond his hosting duties, Ryan Seacrest has branched his business activities out to other industries as well. He started a line of clothing sold only at Macy’s, Ryan Seacrest Distinction. He also co-developed a line of personal care products for men called Polish. He even now has a hand in the restaurant industry. He co-founded a sushi bar in Los Angeles which is named Katana.

According to GQ.com, as someone who wants to use his success to give back to others, Ryan Seacrest started a charitable foundation. This is the Ryan Seacrest Foundation which installs broadcast media centers inside of children’s hospitals. The goal is to help children through their healing process by giving them something fun and exciting to do (with a side of being educational). This contributes an air of optimism to the hospitals they have partnered with and helps the overall hospital community.
