‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ to Be More Emotional Film.

While Marvel hit a home run with their franchise opening ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, the content of the film can be pretty hotly debated among comic book fans. Some say that the film was merely a salty popcorn confection full of big laughs and ridiculous action. Others claim that there is more room for depth snd emotion in the title thanks to the amazing ensemble and depth of character. No matter what you ended up thinking of the first film, ‘Vol. 2’ will aim to increase the stakes and emotional breadth of the series.

Chris Pratt, who plays Star Lord (Peter Quill), had already admitted that the screenplay for the second script had made him cry. According to Deere, we are getting even more information about the strength of the film from the director himself, James Gunn. Gunn claims that the sequel will be a ‘bigger movie’ that focuses more on the characters and their emotions. These comments mirror the thoughts of Joss Whedon, who helmed ‘Age of Ultron’. Whedon had wanted to scale down his film and focus more on character moments, but that ended up not happening.

With ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ being on a second tier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe we think that James Gunn will have more leeway with how he wants to approach this vehicle. We are looking forward to learning about the characters past and possibly even who Star Lord’s father actually is.
