The ligament can get fractured when an individual either associates himself/herself in sporting activities or twists his/her knee the wrong way. Due to the fractured ligament, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction surgery will be conducted on the patient’s knee. During this therapy, the surgeon will remove the fractured ligament and replace it with another one to make a new Anterior Cruciate Ligament. The replacement tissue may either come from the patient, or an organ donor. Also, the new ACL will be linked to the bones using screws or other implements to hold it in place.
